Our latest Ultimate Bushcraft Course was a huge success!
We started off with an in depth talk about knife use, knife safety and care, and also on different types of natural tinders, with examples to pass around the group to examine and see up close.
We moved onto shelter building where some absolutely fantastic camps were set up! We had all different types of shelter built - A frame, lean to and some “original” ones too.
We all dressed and prepared an entire trout each, where we all butterflied the meat and presented it over our own fires. We were lucky enough to have our group of wild campers join us for the game preparation workshop, making a massive group of around 20 of us altogether!! This was served with jacket potatoes, cheese, beans, salads and sauces.
Sunday was nice and relaxed, catching up on topics that people wanted to know about bit more about and have more of a practice. We had fires lit in the traditional way using flint and a steel, some amazing spoons were carved, water from our stream was filtered and boiled up in a plastic bottle in the fire.
