Have you already been on one of our Beginners Bushcraft courses? Or are you a person that likes to be thrown in at the deep end and enjoys a challenge? If so, then The Ultimate Bushcraft Course is for you.
Join us for an unforgettable, adventurous weekend and truly immerse yourself into the world of bushcraft. Embrace the challenge and be at one with nature and the forest, using the natural materials around you to help you achieve your goals.
What Will We Be Up To?
🔥 Fire Lighting Techniques:
- Flint and Steel: Create an ember using probably one of the most historic and accomplishing techniques.
- Solar Fire: If we are graced with good, strong sun, we can show you the art of firelighting using the sun's natural energy.
- Ferro Rods: This simple and modern approach to firelighting needs not to be overlooked.
- Natural Tinders: Learn how to find and create your own tinders from the materials that you can find around you.
- Hand Drill or Bow Drill: Witness a demonstration of primitive fire-making techniques using either a hand drill or bow drill.
🌳 Shelter Building:
- Construct sturdy and reliable shelters using natural materials.
- Make your shelter ready for sleeping the night in, with various options available to suit different weather conditions and personal comfort levels.
- If you prefer not to sleep in a shelter, we offer various options: bring your own setup, rent a hammock, tent, or choose a Tipi with a stove.
🔪 Knife and Axe Skills:
- Develop the respect and essential skills for safe and effective knife use.
🏕️ Camp Pioneering and Craft:
- Learn how to make cordage from natural materials and create your own camp gadgets—useful items that will make your life in the woods more comfortable.
🐾 Animal Tracking, Traps, and Snares:
- Study animal tracks and signs to understand wildlife behavior and movements.
- Learn the principles of tracking and trapping small game, including what traps and snares to use and where to set them.
🍽️ Preparing Fresh Game:
- Learn to dress and prepare a small game animal that you have targeted while setting up your traps and snares. Typically this will be fish, rabbit, or poultry.
💧 Water Collection & Filtration:
- Identify where and how to collect water and make it safe for drinking.
🗺️ Natural Navigation:
- Learn basic techniques to find your way using natural signs, such as the sun, stars, and terrain features.
