These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made with Learn Bushcraft for bushcraft courses, wild camping, private experiences, group events and other activities.
Please read them before making a booking.

Making a booking
A booking is confirmed when we have received the required payment and you have received confirmation from us.
Please check your booking confirmation carefully and contact us as soon as possible if anything is incorrect.
The person making a group booking is responsible for ensuring that everyone included in the booking is aware of these Terms & Conditions and any relevant joining instructions.
Prices and payment
Prices shown on our website are in pounds sterling and apply to the activity or experience described at the time of booking.
Any additional booking or payment fees will be shown before payment is completed.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment must be made by the date stated on the booking or invoice.
Cancelling your booking
Our courses, camping weekends and events normally take place on a specific date or during a specific period.
The normal statutory 14-day cooling-off right generally does not apply to leisure activities booked for a specific date or period. Legislation.gov.uk
However, Learn Bushcraft operates the following cancellation and transfer policy.
28 days or more before your booked date:
You can choose a refund or transfer your booking to another available date.
14 to 27 days before your booked date:
You can transfer your booking to another available date or receive booking credit to use with Learn Bushcraft.
Less than 14 days before your booked date:
Bookings are normally non-refundable. However, we will try to transfer your booking where possible. If we are able to resell your place, we may also offer a refund.
If you do not attend:
No refund will normally be given for a no-show.
Any transfer is subject to availability.
If exceptional circumstances prevent you from attending, please contact us. We will always try to be reasonable and helpful where we can.
If Learn Bushcraft cancels an activity
Occasionally we may need to cancel or postpone an activity because of severe weather, unsafe woodland conditions, instructor illness, access problems or another circumstance that makes it unsafe or impractical to continue.
If Learn Bushcraft cancels an activity, you will normally be offered:

An alternative available date, or
-
A refund of the amount paid to Learn Bushcraft for the cancelled activity.
We will contact you using the details provided when booking.
We are not responsible for unrelated costs such as travel, accommodation or equipment purchased for your visit, except where the law requires otherwise.
Weather and woodland conditions
Bushcraft and wild camping are outdoor activities and will normally continue in typical British weather, including rain and cold conditions.
Please arrive with suitable clothing, footwear and equipment for the expected conditions.
Activities may be changed, postponed or cancelled if conditions make the woodland unsafe. This could include high winds, storms, extreme heat, fire risk or other hazards.
Safety will always take priority.

Safety briefings and instructions given by Learn Bushcraft instructors must be followed at all times.
Learn Bushcraft may stop someone taking part in an activity if an instructor reasonably believes their behaviour creates a risk to themselves, another participant, staff, wildlife or the woodland.
Personal responsibility
Participants are expected to behave responsibly and follow instructions provided by Learn Bushcraft staff.
Please tell us before taking part if there is anything that may affect your ability to participate safely.
This may include a relevant:

Dietary requirement

Injury
Providing this information does not necessarily prevent you from taking part. It helps us understand whether additional precautions or reasonable adjustments may be appropriate.
Children and young people
Children and young people must be booked onto activities that are appropriate for their age.
Where required, they must be accompanied or supervised by a parent, guardian, Scout leader, teacher or other responsible adult.
The responsible adult or organisation is responsible for providing any necessary information and permissions relating to the young people in their care.
Alcohol and drugs
Anyone who appears to be significantly affected by alcohol or recreational drugs may be prevented from participating in activities involving fire, knives, axes, tools or other potentially hazardous activities.
This is for the safety of everyone attending.
Wild camping
Wild camping takes place in a natural woodland environment.
Campers must:

Follow woodland and fire safety instructions

Use fires only where permitted

Respect wildlife and the woodland

Dispose of waste responsibly

Keep camping areas tidy

Follow instructions concerning access, parking and vehicles
A compost toilet is available on site.
Specific arrival times, departure times and other camping information will be provided with your booking.
Campfires
Campfires are normally permitted where conditions allow.
The use of fires may be restricted or prohibited at any time because of dry weather, high fire risk, forestry operations or other safety considerations.
Any instructions relating to fire safety must be followed.
Equipment and personal belongings
Please look after your own equipment and personal belongings.
Learn Bushcraft cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal possessions unless that loss or damage results from something for which we are legally responsible.
We recommend that valuable items are not brought into the woodland unnecessarily.
Learn Bushcraft equipment
Tools and equipment supplied by Learn Bushcraft must be used according to the instructions provided.
Participants may be responsible for deliberate or reckless damage to equipment.
Normal wear and tear is excluded.
Food and dietary requirements
Some courses and experiences include food or outdoor cooking.
Please tell us about any relevant allergies or dietary requirements before attending.
We will take reasonable care when preparing food, but food may be prepared in an outdoor environment where it may not always be possible to guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
We will explain any significant limitations where relevant.
Changes to activities
Bushcraft activities depend on weather, woodland conditions, available natural materials and the needs of the group.
We may adjust the order or content of an activity where reasonably necessary.
We will aim to provide an experience broadly consistent with the description provided when you booked.
Photography and video
We occasionally take photographs or video during Learn Bushcraft activities for use on our website, social media and other promotional material.
Where appropriate, we will ask permission before using identifiable photographs or video for promotional purposes.
Please tell a member of the team if you do not wish to appear in photographs or video.
Where children are involved, appropriate permission will be sought from a parent, guardian or responsible organisation where required.

Behaviour
We want Learn Bushcraft to be a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment.
We reserve the right to ask someone to leave if their behaviour is dangerous, abusive, threatening or seriously disruptive.
A refund would not normally be provided where someone is removed because of their own serious misconduct, subject to their legal rights and the circumstances involved.
Respecting the woodland
Please respect trees, plants, wildlife and woodland infrastructure.
Cutting living trees, damaging habitats or removing natural materials must only take place where expressly permitted as part of an instructed activity.
Please leave your camping or activity area clean and tidy.
Liability and your legal rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please speak to us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.

Changes to these Terms & Conditions
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applying to a booking will normally be the version in force when the booking was made, unless a change is required by law or is expressly agreed with you.
