Scouting with Learn Bushcraft
Bushcraft for Scouts and Scout Leaders
Practical bushcraft experiences and leader training in 1,500 acres of private woodland near May Hill, Gloucestershire.
Bring your Scouts or Explorers along to develop outdoor skills, or join us as leaders to build confidence in teaching bushcraft to your own group.
Sessions are tailored to your group’s experience, interests and abilities, with day and weekend options available.
Bushcraft for Scouts and Explorers
Give your young people the opportunity to learn practical skills, work together and build confidence outdoors.
Activities can include:
• Fire lighting and natural tinder preparation
• Shelter building and choosing a suitable campsite
• Knife safety and simple woodland projects
• Making pegs, mallets and natural cordage
• Campfire cooking and woodland living
We’ll work with your leaders to plan a session suited to your group. If you’re working towards a particular badge, let us know so we can discuss which requirements the activities can support.
Bushcraft Training for Scout Leaders
Develop your own skills and feel more confident introducing bushcraft activities to your section.
Our practical training gives you time to watch demonstrations, practise techniques and ask questions in a relaxed woodland setting.
Sessions can cover:
• Safe knife, axe and saw use
• Fire lighting and preparing natural tinders
• Shelter building and basic campcraft
• Simple projects such as pegs and mallets
• Explaining and demonstrating skills clearly
• Organising activities and managing safe working areas
Whether you’re new to bushcraft or refreshing existing skills, we’ll plan the training around the areas where your leaders would like more confidence.
