From the Forest to the Feast
Discover the Journey from Woodland to Campfire
Spend a day immersed in our private 1,500-acre woodland, learning the traditional skills of preparing, butchering and cooking wild venison.
This isn't simply a butchery demonstration, it's a hands-on woodland experience that follows the journey of the animal from the forest to the feast. You'll gain a deeper understanding of where food comes from, learn traditional processing techniques, and enjoy cooking fresh venison over an open fire.
Whether you're a hunter, bushcrafter, outdoor enthusiast or simply curious about sustainable wild food, this course offers a fascinating insight into skills that have sustained people for thousands of years.

Throughout the day everyone has the opportunity to get involved. Our instructors guide you through every stage, explaining not only how each task is carried out, but why it has been done that way for generations.
Cook What You Prepare
One of the highlights of the day is cooking and eating the venison you've helped prepare.
Lunch is cooked over the campfire using traditional methods before everyone gathers together to enjoy freshly prepared venison in the woodland.
Later in the afternoon you'll help prepare another woodland meal, such as venison burgers or a hearty venison stew, cooked over the fire before the day draws to a close.
